Finance > Volunteer fundraising

We are proud of the back up and support we give to our volunteers in the field. We believe strongly that selecting the right person and the projects overseas is important. All this costs money. We receive no government assistance and all our funds are raised either by ourselves or by our volunteers.
We feel that raising sponsorship is an important part of preparing yourself for your year out. It shows to others your determination and initiative, and demonstrates to yourself your ability to rise to a challenge.

What sum do I need to raise?

To go overseas in 2010/2011 UK volunteers are expected to raise £4,950 (£4,350 for particip8), including deposits and your registration fee totalling £220. Project Trust raises another £650 approximately per UK volunteer to subsidise the full costs of the year abroad. Non Uk volunteers are expected to raise £5,600 for 12 months overseas (£5,000 for particip8).
Most volunteers are surprised by the response to their efforts and many raise more than the sum required and enjoy the challenge. Only a small number each year have problems and they are helped by Project Trust's own sponsors to reach their final target.
If you don't make the target, yet we feel you have made a genuine effort, we will do our best to get you overseas, but you must realise that between you and us, the full amount has to be raised or Project Trust could not exist.
Your fundraising deadlines will depend on when you were selected. Please refer to the Deadlines sheet which was sent out with your fundraising pack or e-mail fundraising@projecttrust.org.uk
